Anumio Selects Lead Asset for Development Program
• Anumio has selected ANM02 as its lead development asset, a 90-day injectable phenylpropanolamine drug candidate for canine urinary incontinence.
• The program targets a clear unmet need by offering a long-acting, owner-friendly alternative to daily oral medications, with the goal of improving adherence and quality of life for dogs and their owners.
• Anumio says it is advancing the asset as an internally funded program while also exploring co-development opportunities with strategic partners in other veterinary indications.
PLYMOUTH, Minn. – April 28, 2026 – Anumio, Inc., an animal health company developing long-acting injectable therapeutics for companion animals, today announced the selection of its lead asset, ANM02, a 90-day injectable phenylpropanolamine (PPA) drug candidate for the treatment of canine urinary incontinence. ANM02 is designed to provide sustained symptom control with a single injection, reducing the burden of frequent dosing while improving treatment adherence and quality of life for pets and their owners.
ANM02 is addressing a significant unmet need in canine urinary incontinence, a common condition in middle-aged and senior dogs that can cause chronic leaky bladder and reduced quality of life for pets and their owners. The decision was made after rigorous market research and evaluation of existing treatment options, including frequency of dosing, adherence challenges, and owner burden. This decision reflects Anumio’s focus on long-acting, owner-friendly therapies that reduce the need for daily oral medications while still targeting core clinical needs in canine urinary incontinence.
“We’re focused on addressing a real, everyday unmet need in the treatment of canine urinary incontinence, where owners and veterinarians are looking for a more convenient, long-acting option beyond daily pills. The emergence of long-acting injectables in companion animal health is a natural fit with our Faros™ platform.” said Emily Meyering, COO of Anumio. “We’re excited to advance this internally funded program while also exploring co-development opportunities with strategic partners in other veterinary indications.”

Anumio’s parent company, Frenelle Pharma, systematically advances Faros™-enabled therapeutics from discovery through commercialization via its hub-and-spoke model. With micro-sized, spherical, non-porous particles that deliver consistent drug release, Faros™ particles enable injections through very small-gauge needles, minimizing injection-site pain and enhancing the safety of soft-tissue injections. Its aerodynamic properties make Faros™ particles compatible with inhalation delivery as well. Frenelle Pharma has three subsidiaries at this time, SpineThera (sciatica), Frenelle PBC (addiction medicine), and Anumio (animal health). Headquartered in Minnesota's Medical Alley, the company is committed to continually improving patient and pet experiences through superior drug delivery.
